Amplifying Voices. Defending Life.
The lives and health of the Palestinian people have been devastated by 76 years of settler colonialism, military occupation and apartheid, and since October 7th2023 an overt, live-streamed genocide. The complete destruction of the health service in Gaza and the murder, abduction and torture of Palestinian health workers has been a central feature of this genocide. At the same time health institutions, scientific journals and employers in western countries have imposed harsh repressive measures against health workers advocating for Palestine, to silence criticism of Israel and the genocide, often at the behest of Zionist supporters in their countries. Palestine Health Matters is a platform both for documenting these issues, and amplifying pro-Palestine and health justice voices. Fighting back against the drive by western governments and media to normalise genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine is of fundamental importance for all of us. We will publish material on these subjects as well as serve as a resource for such content. We will also publicise campaigns to isolate Israel in the health field, and expose medical complicity in the Zionist project both within Israel and internationally.
